Fairchild公司简介
1955年,“晶体管之父”威廉·肖克利(WilliamBradfordShockley)离开比尔实验室,创建肖克利半导体实验室(ShockleySemiconductorLaboratory)。他吸引了很多富有才华的年轻科学家加盟。但是很快,肖克利的管理方法和怪异行为引起员工的不满。其中八人决定一同辞职,他们是罗伯特·诺伊斯(RobertNoyce)、高登·摩尔(GordonMoore)、朱利亚斯·布兰克(JuliusBlank)、尤金·克莱尔(EugeneKleiner)、金·赫尔尼(JeanHoerni)、杰·拉斯特(JayLast)、谢尔顿·罗伯茨(SheldonRoberts)和维克多·格里尼克(VictorGrinich)。后来他们被肖克利称为“八叛逆”。八人接受位于纽约的“仙童摄影器材公司”(FairchildCameraandInstrument)的资助,于1957年创办了飞兆半导体公司。飞兆半导体公司初期研究和生产晶体管。他们率先提出了商业化生产集成电路的方法。在此后的十年中,在这一领域保持了技术上的优势,业务飞速增长。1960年代后期,由于严重的人才流失,飞兆半导体公司失去了技术领先的地位,业绩大幅下滑。后几经转卖和重组。飞兆半导体公司的目前的主要产品是功率半导体器件,用于开关电源等应用。2015年11月18日,安森美半导体以每股20美元,斥资24亿美元现金收购飞兆半导体公司。2016年4月10日,飞兆半导体的美国总部从圣何塞搬迁到桑尼维尔。
