A3980是一个完整的微电机驱动器内置为便于操作的翻译。它的设计操作双极步进电机在全，半，第八和第十六步模式，在高达35V，±1A。“A3980包括FI固定的关断时间电流稳压器有能力在慢，快，或混合衰减模式操作。这结果能减少可听到的电动机噪音，增加步进精确度并降低功耗。转换器是A3980易于实施的关键。只需输入上一步输入一个脉冲，驱动电动机微步。有没有相位顺序表，高频率控制线，或复杂的界面。A3980界面是一个理想的Fi的应用中，一个复杂的μP不可用或不堪重负吨。内部同步整流阳离子控制电路提供改善脉宽调制（PWM）操作时的功耗。内部电路保护包括：滞后热关机，过压锁定（OVLO），欠压锁定
