The AC/DC converter PPSA115Ex supplies

the excom® system with power to the full extension. A combined protection rating of Ex m

and Ex e enables application in zone 1. It is

also fully potted and installed in a die-cast aluminium frame.

Powered with 115 VAC. The external power supply is hooked up to Ex e clamps at the

module rack. These clamps located under

a closure cap must not be plugged or unplugged under power. Interventions are only

allowed after switching off the respective supply voltage.

Redundancy:

Two power supply units can be installed in

combination with a suitable module rack. In

case of power cut or failure of one device, the

second unit provides the power for the whole

system. Different potentials can be supplied.
