SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for damage which is caused by not using this unit in

compliance with the safety precautions.

· Do not open the casing of the unit at any time, NO user serviceable parts can be found inside.

· Ensure mains power is disconnected BEFORE any connections are made to the telephone network.

· Do not expose the unit or leads to rain or any other source of moisture.

United Kingdom connection to mains supply

· A 3-amp fuse must protect this apparatus if a 13 amp (BS1363) plug is used. Be sure to replace the

fuse only with an identical approved type, as originally fitted, and to replace the fuse cover.

· IMPORTANT: The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code

· Blue: Neutral Brown: Live.

· If you need to change the mains plug supplied the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this

apparatus may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, so

proceed as follows:

· The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter N or

coloured BLACK. The wire coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with

the letter L or coloured RED. DO NOT make any connection to the terminal which is marked with the

letter E or coloured GREEN

Ringer Equivalence Number

There is no limit to the number of telephone sockets you can have on one

telephone line, but the number of telephones that can be connected at the

same time is limited by their Ringer Equivalence Number (REN). All approved

telephone equipment which plugs into the telephone line should have an REN

indicated on it. The phoneflash has an REN of 0.5. The total of the REN

added together should not be more than 4 otherwise the phoneflash or

other equipment might not flash or ring properly. Most equipment has a REN

of 1 so 4 pieces of telephone equipment e.g. 2 telephones, 1 phoneflash

and an answerphone (all with a REN of 1) would be the most that could be

connected at once.

The phoneflash may be connected to Direct Exchange Lines (D.E.L.), and any

Private Branch Exchange (P.A.B.X.). This apparatus must be connected in

parallel with other approved apparatus, where calls may be answered when a

ringing indication is given. It is however, not suitable as an extension to a Pay

Phone Circuit, nor should it be connected to shared service lines on the

P.S.T.N., or as part of a 1+1 carrier system.

Instructions for use

· Your phoneflash is supplied ready for use with an integral mains lead and

telephone line cord, a wall mounting bracket, screw pack and a double

telephone adaptor.

· Fit the double telephone adaptor into the telephone wall socket and plug in

the telephone and the phoneflash. Then plug the mains lead into the

mains socket and switch on.

· When an incoming call is detected it will flash in time with the ringing of

the telephone.

· The wall bracket should be fixed to the wall using screws supplied. The long

vertical part of the bracket should be placed flush against the wall with the

screw head recesses and mounting lugs away from the wall. The

phoneflash will locate over the two lugs and then should be slid

downwards to fix firmly.
