Scope and purpose

This application note provides an overview of the evaluation board EVAL-M5-IGBT7 including its main features,

key data, pin assignments, mechanical dimensions, and corresponding control card.

The EVAL-M5-IGBT7 is a complete evaluation board including the six discrete IGBTs realizing a B6 inverter for

motor drive applications. In combination with control boards equipped with the M5 32-pin interface connector

such as the XMC DriveCard 4400, it features and demonstrates Infineon’s IGBT in motor drives.

The evaluation board EVAL-M5-IGBT7 was developed to support customers during their first steps in designing

applications with IGBT.

This application note is intended for power electronic engineers evaluating the use of IGBT devices in drive

applications.
